AV Data Analytics

AV System Data Analytics

Data > Analysis > Action

Measuring, Analysing and Acting upon rich data enables organisations to mitigate waste and optimize AV usage and workplace efficiency. Using data analytics should deliver a better user experience, increase productivity and reduce operational cost through improved system insights

Today’s AV systems can provide a wide variety data that, if collected and analysed in a structured way, can provide great insights in to how efficient the AV infrastructure is in an organisation and how it is being utilised

But very few organisations have done this in the past

In the post-Covid return to work era it is vital that organisations understand how their AV technology is being used so that they manage existing systems and plan the future AV deployments to best suit the needs of their staff and provide the most efficient and cost effective operating environment for the future

So how is the data collected?

Layer 9 have developed a device-aware data gathering module that we can insert into existing Crestron control code which will extract all of the device data and statistics

For older systems, provided we have access to the original source code, we can add in all of the necessary coding to extract the available data. Non-Crestron systems can also be monitored with the addition of a simple hardware device

In order to gather User Experience data a User Experience survey can be added to the AV control panel if this data is not being gathered from other devices. By gathering this data a more tailored user experience can be created

In compliance with GDPR regulations the data gathered is entirely de-identified and no personal data is stored

Contact Tracing

Trigger:

An individual tests positive for a virus

Action:

Identify all recent contacts and isolate*

If an individual tests positive for a virus Layer 9's Data Analytics software can re-index the secure on-site data and identify the individual and all those who have been exposed over a defined period of time

The organisation can then send that group to self-isolate thus protecting the other staff members and safeguarding the business

Strict governance and access is applied to the re-identification process in order to safe guard confidentiality and GDPR compliance

*WiFi tracking or other location tracing technology required as part of the Layer 9 Data Analytics solution
